 5) Duress – threats to compel somebody

 She signed the confession under duress.

 6) Dulcet – sweet and soothing

 Record the dulcet voice of your family and friends.

 7) Fatuous – silly and pointless

 A fatuous comment.

 8) Fallow – left without seeding to make the land fertile

 The farmer left the field fallow for two years.

 9) Fervid – showing earnest feeling 

 The politician delivered a fervid speech, urging the crowd to vote for him.

 10) Craven – cowardly

 A craven abdication of his moral duty.
